About Blue Anchor Behavioral Health

A love for the Great Lakes inspired this nautical-themed practice. Just like anchors keep boats steady with changing tides, therapy can support stability in difficult seasons of life. Behavioral health includes all emotions and habits that affect well-being, and these will be considered throughout the course of treatment.

Our goal is to provide comprehensive behavioral health support tailored for athletes, individuals experiencing perinatal mood/anxiety disorders and those navigating life transitions. Treatment is approached through an attachment-focused lens, highlighting the importance of early childhood experiences and emphasizing the role of secure relationships in healthy development. Being trauma-informed is the understanding that

who we are is a product of what we’ve been through.

This space is committed to being a place of safety where growth and healing can occur. By collaboratively identifying the cause of behaviors, exploring their meaning and encouraging the integration of healthy solutions, you can begin to better care for yourself.

Meet Jessica Moskalewski, LMSW, PMH-C

With a diverse background in individual/family therapy, clinical assessment, medical social work and community-based crisis intervention, I have learned how powerful it is to be present in critical life moments, allowing people to feel their emotions and share their story. While also considering holistic and physical wellness, I integrate trauma-informed practices, empowerment and cognitive behavioral therapy into treatment. Being able to communicate without fear of judgment or backlash is essential for creating trust. When clients come to therapy, they are often lacking an outlet in their life that makes them feel heard or validated. I hope to be that person for others.

Starting when I was young and eventually graduating as a college athlete, sports have been and continue to be a huge part of my life. I witnessed mental health being a determining factor in achievement and saw how the dichotomy of athletic highs and lows created consequences in functioning. As a therapist, I have helped many athletes learn effective ways to manage the stress of performance, increase self-confidence and develop the necessary resilience to “reach higher” in their sport. As mental and emotional needs that accompany high-level competition are unique, the care I provide is equally specialized. I feel honored to be a resource for athletes in this space.

Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are extremely common, but there are many other factors for new and expectant parents (lack of sleep, complex medical needs, relationship changes, decreased social outlets, hormone fluctuations, etc.) that may benefit from connecting with a PMH-C therapist. Having a professional perspective during pregnancy and postpartum can help not only the parent(s), but the bond with the child(ren) too. Through perinatal mental health treatment, I hope families are able to regain joy during this life chapter. I recognize that life transitions are emotionally exhausting, no matter the excitement they also carry. Changing careers, moving, beginning a relationship, becoming an adult, retiring from a sport or growing a family all come with the need for added space to process and regulate emotions. As this can be overwhelming, my support can allow you to feel secure through your growth.
